Well, I don't think you can generalize that. I've seen lots of really low quality avi releases and the same movie as an mpeg in a way better quality. Guess it only depends on the source and the guy who converted it - the format doesn't actually matter that much in my oppinion. |

True you shouldn't generalize but sizeMB versus sizeMB then avi is generally better ie 700MB avi/700MB mpg,as you say it is also source dependant.
As this is from a "VCD" (or released as vcd )then mpeg is probably best as it can be burnt straight to cdr (vcd) also every conversion degrades a little.
just my opinion.
