I'm getting a lot more movies next week, but here is what I have so far. I just learned to rip/burn DVDs so I thought I might start sharing some. I'm on a slow ADSL connection, so it will take awhile for these to spread once I put them out there. I plan to put them out there in ratDVD format.

We can't talk you into making nice AVIs using Xvid Codec? :P
Cuz I think that ratdvd has some big disadvantages, especially with porn. Quality at first and that it's only watchable with PC (unless recoded to DVD). |

| Oh, i missed that part of his message. Well, i guess you could transcode it...but i'm not sure how that would really come out, as i've never gotten a ratDVD... |

Well, I don't have to use ratDVD, I just thought it was the latest and greatest. It's also very easy to use, and keeps all the menus and special features all in one file. I'm also pretty sure you can reconvert it into an iso or VOB files and burn it. I could also create a CloneDVD iso.
The thing I don't like so much about avi/mpegs is that they are almost impossible to convert back to the DVD (at least in my experience). I've also never created a release before, but I did copy my first DVD the other day and all I used was DVD Decrypt and ratDVD, and then CloneDVD.
If anyone has any suggestions, links to guides or recommendations, please let me know. Thanks. |

The main thing is always quality. And ratdvd's abilities with encoding are limited - hopefully that'll improve in the future.
So encoding it to ratdvd and then recoding to dvd means a significant quality loss.
XVID produces smaller files, but with very high quality. Ok, you don't have menus, chapters and such features, but I guess most people can liove without that.
Only better alternative is DVD-Isos with DVD-Rebuilder and CCE Encoder, but the ISOs are very large, so with your connection you might prefer the smaller files.
It's your choice as you are willing to release. It's just that I think most people downloading porn are looking for nice quality AVIs, which normally are even playable on Standalone Divx-capable DVD Players.

You can use Auto-Gordian Knot if you like it easy, otherwise Gordian Knot.

They have some good guides there too (for those who don't like Gordian Knot, like me). Plus you'll learn a lot more about the encoding pgocess if you do it step by step, instead of letting some automated program handle it for you.
I personally think that XviD with MP3 sound is the best for pr0n. It's small, with high video quality.
But you could also go for DVD+/-R, which ofcourse has even higher quality. I personally think those files are too big to spread on eMule and take too long to download (especially since it's pr0n and not some visual masterpiece), but that's just my opinion.
Whichever way you want to go, Afterdawn and Doom9 have the guides for it. |

I'd prefer avi versions to ratDVD. That way I can fit 3 movies to a dvd, rather than burning 1 ratDVD to it.
And I agree with AJ. XviD with MP3 is best for porn. |

Yeah, I've been through afterdawn and doom9's guide. I spent 24+ hours trying to convert an avi file to a vob so I could burn it to a dvd before the program (Avi2dvd) crashed and I gave up.
I'll give Gordian Knot a shot and see how it works out. |

Thanks. What I'm really looking for is an easy program to help me take the avi/mpegs I've downloaded and burn them to a DVD in a standard format.
I'll wait a few days before I start to get the release ready. I've got a few downloads going that are taking a little longer to download than anticipated and I'm kind of low on hdd space. |
