Heres the thing, I cant connect anymore to Kad.

I think the problem is that I have a new wireless router installed, I do not know anything about routers, my father in law installed it for me, weird thing is that emule kept working a few days after that, but since yesterday it doesnt connects to Kad.

I tried the "test ports" option in eMule, and this is the result:

Starting TCP connection test...
TCP test failed! UDP test will not be performed.

Connection test finished.

Results in detail:

* TCP connection test failed.
It was not possible, to establish a TCP connection to your eMule.
Other users will only be able to connect to you with the help of a server, resulting in a low ID for you. While eMule still works, this will give you several disadvantages. Therfore it is highly recommended to solve this problem.

How to resolve port problems... Something is interfering with your network communications. There are two main reasons for this:

* If you are using a firewall, ensure that your firwall don't block the required ports! You might need to set a rule to allow the ports to be available.
* If you use a router, make sure that your router forwards the required ports to your local IP!

Now, it looks like is in fact the new wireless router, but I have no idea how to set a rule to allow ports there....can someone point me in some direction.

I have a D-Link wireless router.

When you connect via router there is two things you got to do, first you got to set up an static ip adress,

then you'll have to forward your ports for emule

does this sound like jibberish to you, don't worry, it did to me to until a year ago,

go to a site called portforward.com, there you will find guides on how to do, I think they have every router listed

and every filesharingprogram to.

read the guides a coupe of times first, then follow the instuctions exactly as they are written,

like tub says; you need to forward the both emule ports (default are TCP 4662 and UDP 4672) from the router to your computer

take a look at

mmmmmmmmmm....thanks for the help guys, but ...something stills happening.

I did everything, I managed to forward the ports on my router, I run eMule, go to settings, connections, and TEST PORTS, and now it says everything's ok.

However I still cant connect to kad!!!!!.......it stays forever "connecting" but finds nothing.

EDIT:

Nevermind, I fixed it....I had to join an ed2k server, then connecting to kad, and now works. Its like connecting to kad for teh first time all over again.

dont forget to load a fresh ip-filter and a clean serverlist

mmmmmm.....something stills happening.

Before having the router, only the first time I had to join a edonkey server, and after that bootstrap and connect to Kad, from then on, I only connected to kad, without connecting to edonkey.

Now, it doesnt work that way, I never get a connection to kad, unless I connect first to edonkey, only then Ill get kad servers.

It happened to me twice when emule crashed. I just downloaded a new nod.dat file and overwrited the old one.
Worked both times and I'm still running, baby.

and where do I find this nod.dat file?
