Please help!
I always used to use easy video joiner, but that does not work on my new Vista machine. I have tried many and the only one that works is Quick Avi Joiner, but this is nothing but quick!
I have of course tried virtualdub, but for some reason everthing i have downloaded has a VBR audio and when I append the second AVI, it says the video streams are of different sizes (even though they are not!)
Thanks |

Can't help directly, but most program that works under XP can be made to work under Vista, even the problem ones, with some effort. Try (if you haven't already)
* Installing to a location outside "Program Files" e.g. make a folder "c:\old programs" and install there
* Setting the compatibility mode for the app. to XP or 2000 (right-click shortcut, -> Properties -> Compatibility)
* If you can't get it to install in the first place, and you have access to an XP machine, install under XP, then copy the install folder and relevant registry entries & dlls over to the Vista machine (requires some technical nous) |

Have you tried Nandub? It's just like VirtualDub except it's made to split and join DivX/XviD with VBR audio.

i will add this to the post for others as its an old post
to join 2 vbr audio streams you need to create 2 uncompressed pcm wavs
then replace the vbr streams with the uncompressed ones and join and recompress the audio (this is easy in virtual dub)
(vista however wont compress as lame mp3 with any programs i have tryed except audacity)
so for me i have to use audacity to create a mp3 and then direct stream copy with virtualdub |
