With the recent influx of spam messages on this board, I think it would be useful to have a link that lets your normal users report a bad post to the moderators. The quicker the spam messages disappear, the better!

I like that idea, mate. This will stop all these people that just post "Thank You" posts, which really gets me angry.

How about just making it so that people cannot start a new topic ( thread or whatever they are called) that does not contain ed2k links, anywhere other than the chat area.

Guys we are working on this behind the scenes. Its not as eays as you think. Spam bots getting very clever these days. They can even cope with a visual confirmation code when registering, thus making our life more difficult right now. Please bare with us for the time being, it will be sorted soon.

Close Spam section for search-bots to prevent using your board as a gateway and don't allow 'Lil Peeps to post there. ;)

That wouldn't do much. Most of the spam is in the American section...

I notice we are still receiving a lot of spam, which seems to be on the increase from week to week.

The common link between them is that they are all original threads, non are ever replys to existing threads.
Not being to techy in this area so please excuse my ignorance if it sounds dumb but is there way to allow new members only to create replies to existing threads until they have a certain number of posts.

Salty.

Very good idea Salty, i also niticed that most of the spam is coming from new accounts. So when Salty's good idea is technical difficult maybe it's possible that a thread starter must be a member for one week or so ???
Or but that is difficult to make i think, a thing with a code on the screen you have to retype ???

And my wife said: the best way is a shotgun, grinz.
