I'm a PLP fan since 2 years. This is the most complete donkey-link-forum around the web, probably the number one. But a new reality is growing in internet: not-allowed. This site that you well know allows you to post entire movies, the only thing you have to do is to split it into parts. Once downloaded, the movie can be united in one file. A lot of blogs are doing this, here you have some examples

Now I ask you: why don't we create a new not-allowed section? I don't want to change the nature of this forum, but with not-allowed we can share our movies in the fastest way. That's simple and easy, why not?

EXCUSE ME FOR MY BAD ENGLISH, I just wanted to give you a tip, I hope you'll follow it

Thank you and CONGRATULATIONS TO PLP STAFF, That's perfect!

We are sort of discussing that topic with the mods right now.
Personally, I'm against not-allowed links, because they want money for downloading and ed2k is free. We are (and certainly I am) doing our "hard work" here for free.
I don't wanna link there to help them make more money.

There were some donations (3 over past year, to be exact - and I'm grateful for it), plus some income from the ads, it just covers the hosting and domain costs.
This board has almost 27.000 users, if only 10% of them can spare 1 euro or buck, then I won't mind any links to not-allowed etc.

Actually that's not correct.
Of course you can upload movies, but of course they don't allow copyright violations.
In my experience the more people know about the upload, the more likely it will be deleted.

Plus there's the money part of it.
If you use the free service you're restricted to downloading a certain amount of data in a certain amount of time, which is pretty annoying with anything bigger than let's say 4 parts.
Another problem is that the uploaded stuff will be automatically deleted after inactivity for a certain amount of time.

So you'll eventually buy a download ticket - which gives you 3 GB download per day, if I'm correct.
BUT you should keep in mind that if there's money involved you can
a) be easily traced down
b) in some countries this is a far more severe type of pirating activity.

Plus: This board has been rejecting bittorent links, which is a good thing. I think it should restrict itself to ed2k.
Stuff on ed2k stays alive for a long long time compared to all other p2p networks.

But that's just my 2 cents...

I was wondering if i should suggest to allow links to files hosted on sites such as rapideshare, megaupload and so on. But i guess this topic covers it
